Gockle 5k Run/Walk

The Gockle 5K Run was established in honor of Johnny Hohman’s memory. Johnny had a unique way of making you feel special whether he’d just say “hello” or talk about any subject you’d bring up. His sense of humor was engaging and you would walk away feeling especially good about yourself.
Johnny genuinely loved people regardless of their stature or position. His passion was to see the youth of this generation look outside of themselves and bring life and love to those that are hurting and have no hope.
Persevering through years of kidney dialysis, Johnny never gave up and inspired his family, friends, and youth group to “run for the prize” of living an overcoming life. On February 28, 2007, Johnny unexpectedly went to be with the Lord, but his vision and passion for young people still inspires us to press forward and influence this generation in our city, our nation and throughout the nations of this world.
The Gockle 5K Run not only raises funds for youth missions, but serves as a catalyst for our young people to think outside of their needs and serve others in our community and beyond.

Entry Fees
5k Run: $15 before 3/21, $20 day of race
5k Walk: $10 before 3/21, $15 day of race
Kids Event - FREE
This run/walk is open to participants of all ages and includes a free, one-mile “Fun Run” for children under 12. For safety reasons, no baby joggers or strollers are permitted on the race/walk course. All participants must sign the registration form. Parents/legal guardians must sign the registration form for all participants under the age of 18 including the kids fun run.
Awards Categories
Cash awards are given to the top male and female runners in each age category. The overall top male and female runners not only receive a cash award but free Chick-fi l-A for one year and an annual pass to the Adventure Landing Water Park. Runners’ times will be posted on this web site.
Age Categories: 12-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-
44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & up.
Route Description
The Gockle 5K Run/Walk is unique among local area runs. The route is entirely on the campus of New Life Christian Fellowship and Providence School. Parts of the run will involve cross-country elements.
